12 drug peddlers nabbed in Cabanatuan City

Cabanatuan City – Twelve suspected drug pushers, including a 14-year old minor, have been arrested in Cabanatuan City after a series of dogged drug busts carried out in separate operation in this City.

Police Supt. Ponciano Zafra identified a few of the suspects as Edgar Ramos, 42, resident of Villa Benita, Cabanatuan City; Melissa Lepcia, 34, of San Vicente, Gapan City; Ariel del Ponso, 53, and Illuminada Delos Santos, 49, both of Plaridel, Bulacan.

A total of 19 small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were seized from the suspects.

The other suspects include Jericho Dante Listeria, 34, single, resident of Barangay Dulong Bayan, Quezon, Nueva Ecija; Leny Santos, 31 from Barangay Mayapyap Sur, Cabanatuan City; Patrick Anthony San Gabriel, Ernani Coguiz, 31 and Alberto Garcia, were residents of Barangay Mabini extension, Cabanatuan city.

Operatives of the police Drug Enforcement Unit also confiscated one PhP500 marked money bill and five additional sachets containing suspected shabu.

At Cabanatuan Central terminal in Barangay Imelda, suspect Marilou Calceta, 41, a native of Sitio Tubigan Gayagay, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan was also collared while in the act of selling illegal drugs to a police agent.

The Nueva Ecija police arrested a certain Vergel Puno, 37 and a resident of Barangay Imelda and a 14 year old minor peddling drugs to a person who posed as a buyer.

All arrested suspects were detained at Cabanatuan City jail, facing charges for violation of comprehensive dangerous drugs act. or R.A. 9165.

Authorities estimated the seized drugs to have a street value of about PhP250,000.
