MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno S. Aquino III has appointed former Zambales Vice Governor Anne Marie C. Gordon as member of the board of directors of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).
In an interview aired over government-run dzRB Radyo ng Bayan, Deputy Presidential Spokesperson Abigail Valte said Gordon replaced Teodoro D. del Rosario.
"President [Benigno] Aquino appointed Anne Marie C. Gordon as member, representing the local government unit of Olongapo City, in the board of directors ng Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority," Valte said.
Valte said Gordon's term will expire on August 17, 2013.
Gordon is the wife of Olongapo City Mayor James "Bong" L. Gordon Jr.
The SBMA is the operating and implementing arm of the Government of the Philippines for the development of the 262-square mile (670-square kilometer) area of Subic Bay Freeport (SBF) in Subic Bay into a self-sustaining tourism, industrial, commercial, financial, and investment center to generate employment opportunities.
