Belle raises ante in Pagcor City, mulls $1 billion for second casino

MANILA, Philippines -- Belle Corp. wants to lease an additional 10 hectares within the Pagcor City for a second casino.

The leisure property developer told the local bourse that it filed an application before state-run Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) for the $1 billion project.

This would be on top of the $750 million Belle is plunking for its Belle Grande Manila Bay, which will offer 250,000 square meters of gross floor area, 20,000 square meters of gaming space and 10,000 square meters of retail space. The leisure complex also will feature four-star hotels and four condotels.

Belle owns Premium Leisure & Amusement Inc., which is one of four groups that secured a casino license for Pagcor City. 

Belle has secured the services of HSAI Raintree to run the hotel in Belle Grande, and of Asia Pacific Gaming Management and Consultancy to operate the casino.

Belle shares climbed to P4.67 each on Wednesday from P4.65 the day before.
