COTABATO CITY, Philippines -- A grandson of Andal Ampatuan Sr. and a suspect in the 2009 Ampatuan massacre was arrested after an accidental explosion wounded him and six others, and killed another in Barangay Daladac Mamasapano, Maguindanao 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

Anwar "Epi" Ampatuan is said to have a P300,000 reward for his arrest in relation to the November 23 massacre where his grandfather Andal Ampatuan Sr. is a principal suspect.

Also wounded in the blast is alias Commander Dagadas, field commander of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front 108th Base Command, said Maguindanao Police Public Safety Commander Chief Inspector Abubakar Mangelen Jr.

The victims were about to board a motorized pump boat when the improvised explosive device they were carrying suddenly exploded, Mangelen said.

Right now, authorities have secured the hospital where Ampatuan, who faces multiple murder raps, and Commander Dagadas are recuperating. Both are in stable condition.

At the same time, the charges against Ampatuan have been formally presented to him at the hospital.

Authorities continue with their investigation finding out the identities of the other explosion victims.

A total of 58 people, including 32 journalists, were killed in the single most horrific media killing incident in history.
