Manila, Philippines - UPDATE: 7:03 PM - UPDATE: 7:03 PM- The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is calling for donations of food and water, as it struggles to look after some 300 dogs, mostly pit bulls, recently rescued from a Korean dogfighting ring in San Pablo, Laguna.

While the dogs are being assessed, and for the safety and security of concerned individuals, PAWS stressed that volunteers are not yet necessary. PAWS said that what it really needs are donations of dog food and drinking water for the canines, rescued from a dogfighting arena in San Pablo, Laguna.

Interested parties may call the PAWS Manila office at 02-4751688 or e-mail them at philpaws@yahoo.com.
