CARRANGLAN, Nueva Ecija -- Two persons, including a soldier, were jailed for illegal possession of drugs and gun after a raid conducted by the local police in Barangay Joson here on Saturday. Senior Insp. German Lising, town police chief, said the suspects, identified as Private First Class Morrison Altamera, a member of the 7th Infantry Division's 71st Infantry Battalion, and Albert Pascual, 31, tricycle driver, both residents of Sto. Nino, San Jose City, were arrested at about 11:30 a.m. The duo were arrested in possession of "several inhaling drugs paraphernalia," which included an improvised tooter and two small plastic sachet of suspected shabu, among others, he said. Police also recovered one cal. 45 pistol and several bullets, Lising said.
The suspects were locked up in jail pending charges of violations of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
