ILOILO CITY - There is no let-up in the search for high profile fugitives and to bring these persons to the bar of justice, Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierda said while in this city Thursday.
Warrants of arrest have been issued against former Palawan Governor Joel Reyes, former military official Jovito Palparan and Ruben Ecleo of Dumagat Island.
Reyes is accused of having masterminded the murder of environmental advocate and journalist Dr. Gerry Ortega. Palparan has been charged with several human rights violations while Ecleo was convicted last week for the murder of his wife.
Bounties are in place for any information leading to fugitives' arrest. Tracker teams, Lacierda said, have also been dispatched to find and arrest them.
Lacierda and Undersecretary Abigail Valte of the Presidential Communications and Development Strategic Planning Office (PCDSPO) were in Iloilo Thursday for the PCDSPO Western Visayas roadshow.
Lacierda said coddlers of the fugitives may also face charges amid reports that some politicians and other influential persons are helping them elude arrest.
