A man was attacked by an angry mob after he was caught stealing a pedicab from a 15-year old boy in Tondo, Manila last night, a report by TV-5's Balitang Tapat said.

Jonjon narrated that the suspect, Ronnie Andrade, was one of four men who attempted to steal his pedicab, his source of livelihood. Four men, including Andrade, allegedly rode on his pedicab on Asuncion Street going to Capulong at 11 pm last night.

"Tapos pinababa ako. Kinuha yung kita ko. 150 pesos. Mabagal eh. Sinundan ko (Then they asked me to get off.  Got my money. 150 pesos.  I followed them. They were slow)," Jonjon said on TV-5's Balitang Tapat.

Fortunately, Jonjon saw a barangay tanod at the area and asked for help.  This caused the angry mob to maul Andrade, leaving him with wounds and bruises.

Even though the three other suspects got away, Andrade admitted to the crime and apologized to Jonjon.

"Ngayon lang ako sumama sa ganyang lakad. Patawarin nyo ako. (This was the first time I got involved in something like this. Forgive me)," said Andrade.

Jonjon, however, is determined to file charges of qualified theft against Andrade despite the latter's pleas. (Malaya Roxanne Santos, InterAksyon.com)
