MANILA, Philippines - A low-pressure area (LPA) has been spotted off General Santos City and is expected to bring rain over parts of Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Sunday.
In its 5 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said the LPA was estimated to be 460 kilometers east southeast of General Santos City. Parts of Mindanao, particularly the eastern and southern sections, are alerted against widespread rains that may trigger flashfloods and landslides.
Pagasa said other parts of Mindanao will experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon or evening.
