MANILA, Philippines -- State workers can look forward to an early release of the fourth tranche of the Salary Standardization Law 3 this year as part of the package to be unveiled by President Benigno Aquino III on Labor Day.
Aquino said he will also have a dialog with various labor groups of May 1, but declined to give details as to the package of benefits that the government will unveil for both private and public employees.
Aquino said the fourth tranche of SSL3 for more than a million state workers can be released in June, a month earlier than its scheduled implementation.
The 2012 budget has allocated more than P50 billion for the requirements for salary increases under the third and fourth tranches of SSL3.
Last year, the President had a breakfast forum attended by 21 labor groups, including representatives from the Trade Union Congress of the Philippines and the Federation of Free Workers.
