MANILA, Philippines -- Former President Joseph Estrada has backed out of a plan to run for Manila mayor in the 2013 elections.
According to his camp, Estrada will support the candidacy of Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, also a former actor turned politician.
Before this, his son Congressman JV Ejercito said that when it comes to politics, his father does not need to prove anything anymore. He said the people’s support for Estrada is still overflowing.
Proof of this is the almost 10 million votes that he garnered in the 2010 presidential elections, he added.
