Manila, Philippines—Three Filipino law students won a world video contest organized by International Labor Organization’s (ILO) Youth Empowerment Forum, Radyo Singko reported Monday.
Alfonso Orioste Jr. (San Beda College), Gian Carlo Miranda (Ateneo de Manila University), and Janeca Naboya (Lyceum University) produced a film tackling unemployment among young Filipinos.
“Listen to my Story,” which beat 250 other entries, is the fictional story of a fresh graduate who compromised her dreams of being a teacher and worked as a domestic helper in the Middle East to better provider for her family. [See: Listen to My Story]
The law students will fly to Geneva, Switzerland on May 23-25, 2012 to present their winning piece on the Youth Empowerment Forum which will be attended by 100 youths engaged in campaigns for decent employment opportunities for the youth. Romsanne Ortiguero, InterAksyon.com
