MANILA, Philippines -- Two persons were wounded in a grenade attack on the home of a Maguindanao municipal treasurer in Pikit town, North Cotabato Monday afternoon.
Senior Superintendent Cornelio Salinas, North Cotabato police director, said the still unidentified attackers lobbed a grenade at the home of Juliet Mariscal, the treasurer of Pagalungan town, at Barangay Poblacion around 5:25 p.m.
The explosion wounded Jovira Mariscal, 54, a teacher, and house help Teresita Delicano, 30.
Salinas said the attack was apparently triggered by "rivalry" and carried out by parties unhappy with the appointment of Mariscal.
