Villar still richest senator with net worth of P800M, Trillanes poorest with P4.7M

MANILA, Philippines - Senator Manuel “Manny” Villar is still the richest lawmaker in the Upper Chamber with a combined net worth of P854,213,716 according to his 2011 Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) submitted to the Senate secretariat recently. 

However, Senator Antonio Trillanes IV still “maintained his previous record” as the poorest lawmaker in the Upper Chamber with a combined assets of P4.7 million.

Villar’s net worth slightly increased from his 2010 SALN with a previous total assets of P725,221,964 with no liabilities, also for 2011.

In his SALN, Villar said that he has six house and lots in his name with a combined assessed and market value of P4,588,619.

He has also stock investment worth P219,228,941 in unspecified companies and with real and personal properties worth P630,396,156.

Villar listed no liabilities as of the date of filing of his SALN.

Meanwhile, Senator Pia Cayetano has a net worth of P72,058,846 for 2011, slightly down from P76,775,628.71 in her 2010 SALN. She listed no liabilities.

Senator Panfilo Lacson also has a total net worth of P22,637,612.46 in his 2011 SALN categorized as lots in Silang, Cavite, jewelries, shares of stocks, furniture, guns, and motor vehicles.

Trillanes’s assets for 2011 slightly went up to P4.7 million from P3.8 million in 2010.

According of the Office of the Senate Secretariat, SALNs of other senators will be released in 15 days as of this writing.
