Palawan, Philippines - A seven-year-old boy was accidentally killed by his 12-year-old friend in a game of "cops-and-robbers" gone terrible wrong.
Two boys in Linapacan, Palawan, were having fun with what they assumed was a toy gun. The 12-year-old boy who took the role of policeman pointed the gun directly at his friend's head. He pulled the trigger and the younger boy died immediately.
According to Linapacan's Chief of Police Senior Inspector Raul Regala, the gun was apparently home-made and likely unlicensed. It was found by the 12-year-old in his father's room.
Authorities immediately arrested the boy's father, a farmer, who refused to comment. The minor is currently in the custody of the municipal social welfare and development officer in Linapacan. The boy cannot be held criminally liable under the RA 9344 or the Juvenile Justice Welfare Act of 2006. Ivy Bernardo, TV5 | Romsanne Ortiguero, InterAksyon.com and
