MANILA -- Two weather systems prevailing over the country are expected to bring rains over parts of Luzon and Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Monday. In its 5 a.m. bulletin, Pagasa said the diffused tail-end of a cold front is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the eastern section of Northern Luzon and Central Luzon. Rains also loom in parts of Southern Mindanao due to the trough of a low pressure area (LPA) prevailing over the area. Meanwhile, the rest of the country including Metro Manila will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon or the evening. Coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate as light to moderate winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Northern Luzon and coming from the east to southeast over the rest of Luzon and Visayas. In Mindanao, light to moderate winds will come from the east to northeast, Pagasa said.
