MANILA, Philippines -- (UPDATE - 11: 27 a.m.) Former President Joseph Estrada confirmed on Wednesday that he is running for mayor of Manila next year as he readied to move there from his long-time residence in San Juan City, News5 reported.
Estrada was to make the move in a "Jeep ni Erap Lipat Bahay" caravan for the move, the report said.
To qualify to run for local office, a candidate needs at least a year's residency before an election in a particular city or municipality.
