CAMP SK PENDATUN, Maguindanao - Police have launched a province-wide manhunt for a man who tossed a hand grenade Friday evening in Sultan Kudarat that left one person wounded.
Senior Insp. Esmael Madi, Sultan Kudarat town police chief, identified the victim as Maot Solayman, 39, who sustained shrapnel injuries in his back as the explosive landed inside their home in Barangay Calzada.
Madi said Solayman and his family had just finished supper at about 7 p.m. when the grenade-throwing incident took place. His wife and children were unhurt.
Solayman is now in a hospital recuperating from his serious back injuries, doctors said.
The motive for the grenade throwing was unknown.
Police said Solayman was just an ordinary pedicab driver and has no known enemies.
