MANILA, Philippines - Caridad Tulfo, mother to Ramon, Raffy, Ben, and Erwin, has finally broken her silence on a week's worth of controversy revolving around her sons, defending her boys as 'God-fearing' men raised to respect women.
"Nalungkot ako sa nangyari. Pero wala akong magawa, lahat 'yan will of God [I'm saddened by what had happened. But I can't do anything, it's all God's will]", Mrs. Tulfo said.
Erwin, Ben, and Raffy were suspended last week by TV5 from hosting "T3: Kapatid Kapatid, Sagot Kita." The show itself has been suspended by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) pending an investigation.
The MTRCB found probable cause to charge "T3" for violation of Section 3(c), Presidential Decree 1986 for "airing scenes and utterances that are indecent and contrary to law, or with a dangerous tendency to encourage the commission of violence, or of a wrong or crime" in its May 7 episode.
During the said episode, Erwin made this statement:
(My Brother Raffy is right. It's the same for me: If we see each other at the airport, you might as well pray because my advice to you and your wife... don't leave the country, because if we see each other at NAIA ... you'll get hit, you'll get hit. I don't care, even your wife will get hit. Pray that our paths don't cross.)
Ben followed with this statement:
(I'll only do one thing, Raymart. Listen to what I'll tell you. I go up against criminals, killers. You may be a decent person, but if you want to, let's meet at some big warehouse. We'll close it down. We'll have an ambulance waiting outside. Last man standing, nobody gets out. We'll close the doors, and let's see how good you are. Remember this.)
Despite the controversy, Mrs. Tulfo had a perfect Mother's Day gift. She was given the "Ilaw ng Tahanan Award" at the 32nd Annual Huwarang Ina Mother's Day Award. Erwin accompanied her to the event.
