MANILA, Philippines - Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Sr. Supt. Generoso Cerbo Jr., on Tuesday said that murder charges have been filed against Ryan Dominguez, Mark Mario Lakambakal, and James Jimenez in connection with the brutal murder of witness Alfred Mendiola and two other individuals last May 6.
Ryan is the younger brother of convicted car thieves brothers Raymond and Roger Dominguez, who were also accused of killing car trader Emerson Lozano in January 2011.
Cerbo said that charges have been formally filed before the Department of Justice around 7:40 p.m. Monday.
Cerbo said that criminal raps have been filed against the suspects after ballistic tests on the .45 caliber slugs recovered from the body of Eriberto Jumaquio matched the weapons recovered from the two's possession in Malolos, Bulacan last May 8.
Jumaquio, Mark Herrera and Mendiola were found hogtied and shot in the head with a .45 caliber pistol at Barangay Salawag, Dasmarinas, Cavite last May 6.
Aside from murder, the suspects are also facing criminal charges for illegal possession of two cal.45 pistols, two M16 rifles and two handgrenadesl dangerous drug use and possession of about 5.714 grams and 5.23 grams of shabu; car theft; and violation of Anti Fencing Law.
