In a word, 'Kaibigan'. (My friend.) This - nothing more, nothing less - was President Aquino's response when asked by Radyo Bombo about the status of his relationship with TV and radio personality Grace Lee.
Lee was the most recent woman confirmed to have a romantic relationship with the President. It was only last February when the two publicly acknowledged that they were dating.
The relationship may have faded quickly, however. Rumors have been persistent since last week that the President has split with Lee, a Korean-Filipino who has made a thriving career as a commentator on radio and television in the Philippines.
On Wednesday, asked to confirm or comment on the status of their relationship, Mr. Aquino gave Radyo Bombo his one-word reply. There were no further comments.
