MANILA, Philippines - Three people died in separate drowning incidents in Batangas province over the weekend, police said. 

Senior Superintendent Rosauro Acio, Batangas police director, identified the victims as Senior Inspector Renato Samson, 36, of the San Juan City police station, Artemio Salabit, an employee of EEI Corporation, and Rustico Balog, 56, a businessman and resident of Barangay Dagatan, Taysan.

According to police reports, Samson drowned around 9:30 a.m. last Sunday while diving off the waters of Barangay Ligaya. 

Salabit, who was swimming with his co-employees in Barangay Bucana, Nasugbu, also drowned Sunday early morning.

Meanwhile, the body of Balog was found floating in the river bank of Sitio Conde, Brgy. Sto Nino in Taysan, also around 9:30 a.m. Sunday. 

Samson and Salabit were both rushed to the nearest hospitals but were declared dead on arrival by doctors.
