MANILA, Philippines - Senator-judge Aquilino "Koko" Pimentel III voted to acquit Chief Justice Renato Corona on Article II as the impeachment court rendered a verdict on Day 44 of the historic trial.

Pimentel, 17th in the line of senators called upon to declare and announce their vote, said Corona is guilty as charged in Article of Impeachment II, failure to disclose fully his assets, liabilities and net worth.

He said Corona has "consistently misinterpreted all the laws as releasing him from fulfilling his constitutional duty." He noted "respondent's intent to avoid his constitutional duty to disclose his true net worth."
