(Updated 1:25 p.m.) Two Chinese copper traders were seized by armed men who posed as government agents in Zamboanga Sibugay Monday night, an Army spokesman said on Tuesday.
James Lou and Jampong Linyuan Kai, who have lived in the province for three years, were abducted by men who posed as agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Sr. Supt. Ruben Cariaga, provincial police director of Zamboanga Sibugay, said.
The two were kidnapped inside their residence in Bgy. FL Pena, Kabasalan town at around 8 p.m., Captain Albert Caber, spokesman of the 1st ID, said.
Six fully-armed men seized the two and forced them inside a white van before heading towards Sitio Olingan, Bgy. Salipyasin.
The van was later found abandoned and burned at the area.
"As of this time, no group has acknowledged responsibility of the incident and still no ransom demand from the kidnappers," Caber said earlier. InterAksyon.com
