A flashflood hit a village in Sarangani province on Tuesday morning, affecting at least 50 families, a military report said on Tuesday.
Lt. Col. Lyndon Paniza, spokesman of the Army's 10th Infantry Division, said the flashflood came at around 7 a.m., affecting Barangay Big Margus Proper in the province's Glan town.
"According to MDRRMC (Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council) of Glan, 50 families are affected," Paniza said.
Troops from the 73rd Infantry Battalion have been deployed to the area for rescue and relief operations.
