MANILA, Philippines – A 5-vehicle collision has tied up traffic at the corner of Congressional Avenue and Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City, with the driver of a taxi, the worst damaged of all, still pinned in the wreck, a field report from the Metro Manila Development Authority Metro Base said.
The initial report that came in at 5:48 a.m. said besides the taxi, a motorbike, a Ford Fiera, a Toyota Fortuner and a Toyota Land Cruiser were involved in the accident at the northbound lane of Congressional Avenue.
The taxi was a total wreck, having been hit squarely by the Land Cruiser, said initial reports. The taxi in turn hit the Fiera. One of the vehicles allegedly beat the red light at the busy intersection, triggering the “karambola” or free for all.
