More than 20 baby crocodiles of an endangered species were hatched Tuesday at a crocodile park in Pasay City, according to naturalist Virgilio Pedo Jr.
Pedo, who works at Crocodile Park Manila, said the wee Philippine crocodiles were of a critically-endangered species.
More clutches are expected to hatch in the coming days. A clutch is a group of eggs from a single mother.
The crocodiles will be released into the wild as soon as they turn anywhere from two- to five-years-old. Crocodile park workers have yet to determine the sites where the animals will be released.
The public can view these tiny critters from 8 a.m. to 5p.m. from Monday to Sunday at Crocodile Park Manila. InterAksyon.com | All photos by Romeo Ranoco, Reuters
