Police authorities have arrested a 34-year-old fugitive wanted for the murder and another one for three counts of rape in separate operations in Quezon City and Davao Oriental.

Murder suspect Michael Galban of Purok 2, Brgy. Carayman, Calbayog City, Western Samar was arrested around 5:45 pm at Techno Plaza, Libis, Quezon City based on a warrant issued by Judge Pedro de Leon Gutierrez of Pasay City RTC Branch 119 for the crime of murder with no bail recommended.

Rape suspect Roel Hinampas, 24, of Purok 6. Brgy. Novele, Rosario, Agusan del Sur was arrested around 4:30 PM at Purok 4, Brgy. Anitap, Sigaboy, Gov. Generoso, Davao Oriental by virtue of a warrant issued by Branch 6 of Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur. He is listed as number three most wanted in the said town.

Investigation disclosed that Hinampas is wanted for three counts of rape charges filed by a 14-year-old minor in Rosario, Agusan del Sur on February 2005.

Hinampas allegedly went into hiding when the extra judicial settlement his party has offered to resolve the rape case has failed.

Last Monday, a member of Community Investigative Support (CIS) volunteer tipped the CIDG in Agusan Del Sur about the presence of suspect Hinampas in Gov. Generoso, Davao Oriental.

After the information was confirmed, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) operatives proceeded to Brgy. Anitap and arrested the fugitive.

Hinampas is temporarily detained at the CIDG Agusan Del Sur office for proper disposition prior to the return of warrant to the issuing court. InterAksyon.com
