A forty-three-year old male drug pusher and his twenty-three-year-old nephew were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Mandaue City, Cebu, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
Danilo Melgar, alias Buktot, and his nephew-cohort, Michael Melgar, residents of Sitio Maharlika, Barangay Tipolo, Mandaue City, Cebu were arrested on June 27, 2012 at around 5:15 p.m. after PDEA operatives carried out an entrapment operation in the barangay.
A PDEA undercover agent posed as a buyer and was able to purchase two sachets containing shabu from the suspects.
The agency is preparing charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), in relation to Section 26 (Conspiracy), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, against the Melgars who are temporarily detained at the PDEA RO7 jail facility.
