MANILA, Philippines -- Mild earthquakes shook the provinces of Davao del Sur and Zambales early Friday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
A magnitude 4.7 quake struck Davao del Sur at 3:21 a.m., with its epicenter located 84 kilometers southeast of the town of Jose Abad Santos. The quake was tectonic in origin with a depth of 10 kilometers.
At 5:12 a.m., a magnitude 2.8 quake shook Zambales, its epicenter at 18 kilometers northwest of Palauig.
No damage or aftershocks were expected, Phivolcs said.
