Three General Santos City police officials were relieved after they failed to stop illegal gambling in their areas, the Philippine National Police said.

Chief Insp. Leo Sua, head of Police Station 1; Chief Insp. Samuel Cadungon, head of Police Station 2 and Sr. Insp. Hoover Antonio, head of Police Station 6 were relieved from their posts by PNP Chief Nicanor Bartolome, PNP spokesman Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo Jr. said.

The three were sacked after the police implemented a standing one-strike policy against illegal gambling.

Cerbo said the three will undergo pre-charge evaluation for possible administrative sanctions.
