MANILA, Philippines - Two security guards were killed in a bank robbery in Lucena City in Quezon province Thursday afternoon, police said.
Provincial police chief Sr. Supt. Valeriano de Leon said armed suspects declared a bank robbery at the United Coconut Planters Bank at 3 p.m., and fired at the three security guards before taking an undetermined number of cash from both the bank and the customers.
The security guards died at a hospital.
Police later recovered the suspects' getaway vehicle, a blue Toyota Revo, in Purok Riverside, Barangay Ibabang Dupay also in Lucena.
