MANILA, Philippines - Work in the private sector officially resumed Wednesday as the country's weather bureau downgraded rainfall warning signals from the past two day’s Red, to Green and, finally, the lowest, Yellow.

As employees waded through knee-high waters returning to work, many shared a view of the current situation in Manila, where many streets remain underwater, some still impassable to all types of vehicles.

But a glimmer of hope came as the sun peeked through the clouds, a view many relished with delight after being wrapped in torrential rains and darkness for the past several days.
