MANILA - The wife of billionaire Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Melinda, has hailed President Benigno Aquino III for helping shepherd the Reproductive Health (RH) bill in Philippine Congress.
"Congratulations for pushing to give women in the Philippines access to contraceptives," said Melinda Gates, who together with her husband heads the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, which supports various charities and advocacies around the world, including the cause of women's health.
The President on Monday met with members of the House of Representatives to try and shake into action the legislative process, prompting the congressmen to end the debates on the bill.
