SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union - As of 10 a.m. Wednesday, all national roads in Ilocos Region are now passable, except for a few sections that were affected by rains dumped by tropical storm Helen, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Region 1 said. Meanwhile, landslides closed to traffic the Burgos, La Union section of the Bauang-Baguio City road. Early Wednesday, crewmen of the DPWH opened one lane of the Manila North Road (MNR) section in Caba town covered by landslide the night before which stalled traffic along that route. One lane of the Narvacan Port Road (National Secondary Road) in Ilocos Sur was also made passable due to the ongoing restoration.
