Talim Island has been--and will always be--isolated.

A small, quiet town in the easternmost part of Rizal, it faces Laguna province and the vast waters of Laguna de Bay. 

When recent monsoon rains pummelled Metro Manila and nearby areas, the island and its residents felt its effects immediately. Water rose, seeped into the houses, and made everyday life more difficult. 

To make matters worse, supplies and goods became harder to come by, prompting residents to seek assistance from the Alagang Kapatid Foundation Inc. 

On Tuesday, August 14, even as another storm threatened Luzon, volunteers and staff of Alagang Kapatid trooped to Talim and helped, in their own small ways, to make their lives better.
