7 dead as van, truck collide in Zamboanga Sibugay

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines -- Seven people were killed when a passenger van and a truck collided Friday (not Thursday as inadvertently reported earlier) night in Titay municipality, Zamboanga Sibugay, a police official said.

Superintendent Nelson Eucogco, spokesman of Police Regional Office-9, said the head-on collision happened around 10:30 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion.

Six of the seven fatalities, all passengers of the van, were identified as Joel Villamor, Carmela Billiones, Estarlito Despi, Sr., Delia Espina, Antonia Gantalao, and Diamay Espina.
