MANILA, Philippines -- (UPDATE - 4:03 p.m.) A Philippine Navy helicopter involved in the search for Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo made an emergency landing in Sorsogon province after experiencing engine trouble.
The four-man crew of the B0-105 helicopter -- Lt. Junior Grade Nelson Alquiza, Lt.
Rowenie Colita, AD2 Leo Calmante, AD3 Rodrigo Gernale -- and photojournalist Danny Pata of GMA News Online were unharmed, the Navy said.
The helicopter with body number TNH 422, one of three from the Navy used in the search for Robredo, was on its way to Masbate from Cavite when it ran into trouble and immediately landed on the shoreline of Barangay Sta. Cruz in Donsol town around 10 a.m., Senor Superintendent John Jambora, Sorsogon provincial police chief, said.
The remains of Robredo and pilots Jessup Bahinting and Nepalese Kshitz Chand were recovered from waters off Masbate City, where the light plane they were taking crashed on Saturday.
