MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno Aquino III has declared National Days of Mourning starting Tuesday, August 21 to mark the death of Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo until his interment.

Under Proclamation No. 460, the national flag will be lowered to half-mast from sunrise to sunset in all government buildings and installations in the Philippines and in the country's posts abroad for a period of six days.

Until the date of Robredo's internment, the national flag shall be lowered to half-mast in Malacañang, Naga City, and in all offices and installations of the DILG, BFP, BJMP,LGA, NAPOLCOM, PNP and PPSC.

"Let us allow the Robredo family time to grieve; let us refrain fromengaging in any effort to pressure them as to any details concerning the funeral and accompanying ceremonies. These will be announced at the proper time," presidential spokesman Edwin Lacierda said on Tuesday.
