MANILA, Philippines - Philippine Military Academy senior cadet Alfonso Aviles is no longer comatose and has moved out of the AFP Medical Center's intensive care unit as of Sept. 8.
Col. Arnulfo Burgos, Jr., AFP spokesperson, disclosed this during Monday's briefing at Camp Aguinaldo.
"Aviles is on his way to recovery; he has been transferred from ICU to a regular room in AFP Medical Center last Sept. 8," he said.
Burgos added the PMA cadet is now out of his coma and had started to show some movements in the right side of his body aside from opening and closing both eyes.
Aviles was shot after attempting to foil a robbery hold up in a passenger jeep last Aug. 25 in Fairview, Quezon City.
