Surrender.
This remains the wish of the leftist militant group Bayan (Bagong Alyansang Makabayan) on Tuesday, the 62nd birthday of fugitive Army general Jovito Palparan.
Bayan secretary general Renato Reyes Jr. said their only wish is for Palparan to immediately surrender so that justice may be served for the families of the victims of extrajudicial killings and enforced disappearances.
"The torment faced by the families of his victims cannot be quantified," Reyes said in a text message to Interaksyon.
Palparan continues to roam free despite an arrest warrant issued against him for kidnapping and serious illegal detention in connection with the abduction of still-missing UP student activists Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeno back in 2006.
The reward for Palparan's arrest has already been increased to P2 million.
Bayan also challenged incoming DILG Secretary Mar Roxas to make Palparan's arrest a priority.
"Nananawagan kami, maging mapagbantay at baka gumimik pa siya at may celebration na nagaganap," Reyes said.
