MANILA, Philippines -- A man believed to be mentally disturbed hacked to death his wife and children before killing himself in Tanauan City, Batangas Monday evening.
Senior Inspector Celestino Austria, chief of the Tanauan police's investigation section, said Feliciano Gomez, 27, used a sickle to kill his wife, Sherrie Ann, 27, and their two daughters Angeline, 2, and Angelica, 1, in their home in Barangay Hanopol Oriental around 6:30 p.m.
Feliciano then slit his throat.
Austria said before this, Feliciano had asked relatives for poison, “saying that he was going to poison his family, his wife and kids. He was not taken seriously by his relatives but he kept returning. It turned out that he ... could be suffering from depression," Austria said.
Austria said Feliciano was also arrested on July 27 after he took one of his children hostage.
