ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines -- A policeman was critically wounded after being shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Isabela City, Basilan Monday night.
Police Officer 2 Sherhan Paris, 35, was driving a motorcycle with his wife Nashra and her cousin, Hermina Asis, riding behind him when he was attacked at the boundary of Barangays Begang and Busay around 7:45 p.m.
The Paris couple had just fetched Asis from the port in Lamitan City.
The policeman, who is assigned to the Lantawan police station, was hit in the head.
His wife and Asis were unharmed.
