MANILA, Philippines - Activists who fought the Marcos dictatorship will get together in a reunion to honor national leader and young martyr Lean Alejandro on the 25th anniversary of his brutal killing today, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. in Club Filipino, San Juan City.

“It has been 25 years but we, Lean’s family, friends, and colleagues continue to miss him not only for the many ways he inspired and enriched us, but moreover, because we know that had we not lost him, he would have made a big difference to our people’s lives,” said the Leandro L. Alejandro Foundation in its invitation to the reunion.

Among those who will pay tribute to him are Sen. Bobby Tañada, Susan Magno Antepuesto, UP President Dodong Nemenzo, and Health Undersecretary Alex Padilla.

Since his death, the Foundation has organized a number of events, including the staging of Lean, the Musical, “to remember and honor a life so courageously and brilliantly lived.”

The reunion will also serve as a venue to discuss projects that may continue his legacy.
