MANILA - A magnitude 5.3 quake struck off Davao Oriental before dawn Thursday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The quake struck at 2:28 a.m. with its epicenter located 169 km southeast of Mati. The quake was tectonic with a depth of 158 km.
Phivolcs said no aftershocks or damages were expected from the quake.
