BAGUIO CITY - The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) announced that power supply in Baguio, Benguet, Mountain Province, and eastern part of Ilocos Sur will be cut off today to give way to the yearly preventive maintenance work.

Lilibeth Gaydowen, spokesperson of the corporation, said only some parts of the city will remain energized in the duration of the grid's scheduled maintenance work on transformers.

Among them is the Philippine Military Academy (PMA), which is now preparing for its graduation exercises next week.

Likewise, Camp John Hay and Baguio Country Club will not be affected by the scheduled brownout.

"We will try to restore power to Baguio City earlier than the schedule -- 5 o'clock in the afternoon. We understand that the firms within central business district area need electricity for their operations," Gaydowen said.
