MANILA, Philippines -- Presidential legislative liaison adviser Manuel Mamba was ambushed in Alcala, Cagayan Monday afternoon but escaped unscathed, police said.
Inspector Cesar Orlanes, Cagayan police spokesman, said Mamba was traveling to Gattaran town when still unidentified gunmen fired at his convoy in Barangay Centro Norte.
Police recovered two slugs and an empty shell of a still unknown caliber.
They have yet to categorically say what the motive for the attack was but noted Mamba's brother, William, is running for governor in the province.
