On Wednesday, Attorney Yves Gonzalez left his post as traffic director of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. Gonzalez will join the private sector, but will remain a consultant of the MMDA.

In a letter sent to media, he expressed gratitude for the trust and support of MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino and said he was honored to "have been given the opportunity to serve the public as Metro Manila's traffic director, helping to bring positive changes to our metropolis through the MMDA."

He also cited a quotation - "Always leave things better than when you found them" - adding that he hoped he was able to accomplish this with his stay at the MMDA.

Gonzalez is known on Twitter by his handle, @doblezeta. Working with, he helped to establish InterAksyon's Traffic Navigator, which brought real-time online traffic monitoring to the public via the Internet. Prior to that, he was also responsible for introducing Twitter to the MMDA's traffic monitoring team, and vice versa.

At nine in the morning of Wednesday, Gonzalez posted a picture of his office on his Instagram account.
