Potential storm 'Dante' may enter Philippines next week - Pagasa

MANILA – The fourth potential storm for the year to be named “Dante” may enter the Philippine area of responsibility next week, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday.

May probability itong maging bagyo sa ngayon, base sa aming numerical modeling (It has the probability of turning into a storm based on our numerical modeling),” weather forecaster Joey Figuracion said.

Right now, the low-pressure area (LPA) was spotted in southern Philippines and may enter between Visayas and Mindanao as early as Friday.

Magiging ‘Dante’ siya kung sakali (It will be named Dante if ever it becomes a storm),” he said. 

With the potential entry of the storm, Figuracion advised the public to always  be ready for rains in the coming days.
