MANILA, Philippines - Janet Lim Napoles, the woman embroiled in the P10-billion pork barrel scam, is ready to face any investigation, her lawyer gave the assurance in a press conference Wednesday.

Lawyer Bruce Rivera, counsel for Napoles, stressed that Napoles had nothing to do with the alleged priority development assistance fund scam.

He said it was unfair for his client to be dragged into and judged in a "war of public opinion".

Rivera said they are contemplating on their legal options against individuals who are linking Napoles to the alleged pork barrel scam.

Likewise, he clarified that Napoles was not hiding but fears for her security and the safety of her family.

Napoles was accused by her distant cousin Benhur Luy of being the "brains" behind a syndicate engaged in the pork barrel fund scam of some lawmakers.
